Interior decoration styles and design textiles: Industrial

We jump from minimalist decoration to another proposal, interior decoration styles and industrial design textiles.

It is a decorative style born in New York in the 50s.

In those ages, young artists began to settle into large and spacious abandoned warehouses.

The objective: to search spaces amplitude and brightness.

The style has evolved from its origins, becoming in the present lofts.

There exist two main characteristics in industrial decorative style, that are a part of the structural elements at sight and, on the other hand, vintage furniture.

Industrial decoration style does not try to hide building materials, it shows the natural structures.

Wood beams without treatment, exposed brick walls, iron elements and exposed concrete or pipes and metal conducts, are some examples.

Structural elements show its personality, in a very particular decoration style.

Another industrial decoration characteristic is the reusing of elements, that fact gives a second life to several pieces of furniture.

For instance, worn leather armchairs or any sort of vintage pieces are usual elements in industrial style rooms.

Neutral colours like white, grey, beige and, obviously, black, are essentials in this decorative proposal.
Black is ideal like colour contrasts generator, without acquiring too much limelight.
