Interior design glossary (6): Interesting terms to know

Sixth post of the series in which we are defining a glossary of interior design (6) with different interesting terms to know. Interior design is a world full of curiosities and many concepts that are worth discovering.

We keep going with the following terms about the world of interior design:

Mezzanine

Also known as mezzanine, mezzanine, mezzanine or mezzanine. That is, it is that intermediate floor between two main floors that stands out in the form of a balcony.

Monochromatism

The monochromatic decoration is that in which a single color is used and its different shades in a single space. It is a very subtle and elegant interior decoration option. It certainly highlights the potential of color language.

Moodboard

Another term widely used in interior design, used by decorators frequently. It is a panel of images that serve to illustrate a trend or show several pieces that could decorate the same room. It can include furniture, fabrics, colors, textures, etc. But also a phrase, word or song. Collect as a collage everything that serves to imagine how it can be the final result in the decoration of a room.

Must

The basic and essential elements or objects that you must have to succeed in the decoration. Another of those Anglo-Saxon concepts that we see everywhere

Ornamentation

In decoration it refers to the action of adding ornaments and details to beautify an object or furniture. It usually focuses on parts that do not have basic lines, but more curved and with moldings.

Ottoman

In the decó world, the ottoman refers to a type of furniture that is usually combined with a sofa or an armchair and serves to extend it. Formerly it was made with the material that was left to make a sofa and its name comes from its oriental origin.
